Terms of Service

Last updated: 3 September 2026

These terms govern your use of Follow Up Bot, a Slack application and website operated by Follow Up Bot ("we", "us"). By installing Follow Up Bot in a Slack workspace, creating an account, or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and, where applicable, the organisation whose workspace you install it in.

1. The service

Follow Up Bot tracks questions and messages in Slack channels it has been invited to and reminds people when they go unanswered. Some features, including alerts for Slack Connect customer channels, are only available on certain plans. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts and workspaces

You must have the authority to install apps in the Slack workspace where you install Follow Up Bot. Subscriptions are purchased by signing in with Slack, which creates an account tied to your Slack identity and workspace. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Trials, subscriptions and payment

New workspaces receive a free trial, currently 7 days, with no payment details required. After the trial, continued use requires a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed per workspace, monthly or yearly, in advance, through our payment processor Stripe. Prices are shown on our website and may change with notice; changes apply from your next billing period.

You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked on our website. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we do not offer refunds for partial periods except where required by law. If a payment fails and is not resolved, we may suspend the service for that workspace.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Follow Up Bot to harass anyone, to send unsolicited messages, to interfere with the service or other users, to attempt to access data that is not yours, or in any way that breaks the law or Slack's terms. We may suspend or terminate access for misuse.

5. Your data and privacy

Follow Up Bot only reads channels it has been invited to. It stores the minimum needed to work, such as the timestamp and sender of a message it is watching, and never stores message content. Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect and how to have it deleted. Messages in Slack Connect channels belong to the organisations in those channels; we never post anything a customer of yours can see unless a member of your team chooses to send it.

6. Intellectual property

Follow Up Bot, its code, name, and design are ours. You keep all rights to your own content and data. You grant us only the rights needed to provide the service.

7. Availability and disclaimer

We work hard to keep Follow Up Bot reliable, but it depends on Slack and other providers and is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. In particular, a reminder or alert may be delayed or missed, and you should not rely on Follow Up Bot as your only safeguard for time-critical commitments.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Termination

You can stop using Follow Up Bot at any time by uninstalling it from your workspace. We remove data relating to a workspace within twelve months of uninstallation, or sooner on request. We may terminate or suspend the service for a breach of these terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is material, we will notify the installing user by email or in Slack before it takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the new terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Follow Up Bot is established, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you rights that cannot be waived.
